Enrich supplier data with Deep Research

Fill in missing supplier details automatically by researching the web during generation

Your catalog might already contain basic product data, but supplier details like certifications, lead times, or country of origin are often missing or incomplete. Deep Research can fill those gaps by searching the web for additional information and bringing it into your existing catalog data during generation. New to Deep Research? Learn how it works →

Using Deep Research to enrich existing catalog data

Rather than manually looking up supplier pages or cross-referencing documentation, you can point AI to a generatable attribute and let it pull in the missing pieces automatically. You can also create a dedicated attribute purely for gathering research, separate from your content attributes, so the collected data is available as context when generating other fields. Name it something that reflects what you are researching, for example Supplier Information or Manufacturer Details. Once the attribute is in place and content has been gathered, create a new proposal and select the attributes you want to enrich. AI will use the information already gathered from the supplier as context when generating content for those fields.

Under the Instructions tab, describe what kind of supplier information AI should look for and enable Deep Research on the attribute. If you want the output to follow a specific structure or format, you can also add a reference example and AI will use it as a template when generating the content.

Tip

Add the research context before generating the attribute content. When the supplier information research is already attached, AI has richer context to work from and produces more accurate results.

Note

Deep Research works best for products that already have an online presence, such as branded goods sold by multiple retailers. If you only sell your own unique products, supplier data may not be publicly available online.

Keeping it up to date with automations

To avoid doing this manually every time, set up an automation that triggers research whenever a new product is added to your catalog. That way, supplier information is always populated without any extra effort on your end.
